Sculptra

Sculptra is a specialized cosmetic injectable treatment offered at GlowUp MediSpa designed to stimulate your body’s own collagen production for long‑lasting, natural facial rejuvenation. Unlike traditional dermal fillers that provide immediate volume, Sculptra works gradually over time to restore facial structure, improve skin thickness, and soften deep wrinkles and folds.

This treatment is ideal for clients in Ottawa seeking a subtle, long‑term improvement in facial volume and youthful contours without surgery.

What Takes Place During a Sculptra Treatment?

Treatment Process
Consultation +

Your provider will discuss your goals, such as volume loss, facial contouring, and skin quality. They will assess your face and confirm that Sculptra is the right option. Because results are gradual and long-term, expectations are carefully reviewed.

Preparation +

The treatment areas are cleansed, and a topical numbing cream is usually applied. Sculptra is commonly mixed with lidocaine, so discomfort during injections is generally minimal.

The Injections +

Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid) is injected into the deeper layers of the skin using a needle or cannula. You may feel mild stinging or pressure. The product is strategically distributed to stimulate collagen production rather than create immediate fullness.

Massage During Treatment +

The provider will massage the treated areas immediately after injections to help spread the product evenly and reduce the risk of small nodules.

After Treatment +

Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, results are gradual. You will be instructed to massage the treated areas for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days. Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and heat for 24–48 hours. Mild swelling, bruising, or tenderness may occur, which is normal.
